Our Commitment

DARS is committed to ensuring that darsllc.org is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We are actively working to align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the recognized international standard for web accessibility.

We believe accessibility is not a compliance exercise. It is a reflection of our mission: to serve organizations that have historically been underserved by large advisory firms, including nonprofits and mission-driven organizations whose staff and clients may rely on assistive technologies.

Current Status

darsllc.org is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partial conformance means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the standard. We are actively remediating identified gaps as part of our ongoing development process.

Measures currently in place:

  • Skip to main content link on all pages
  • Semantic HTML landmarks (<nav>, <main>, <footer>) with ARIA roles and labels
  • lang="en" attribute on all HTML documents
  • Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images
  • Sufficient color contrast in primary content areas
  • Keyboard navigable navigation and forms
  • No auto-playing audio or video
  • Resizable text without loss of functionality up to 200% zoom
  • No content that flashes more than three times per second

Known areas we are actively improving:

  • Expanded ARIA labels on interactive tool form elements
  • Focus indicator visibility improvements for keyboard users
  • Additional descriptive labels on complex interactive components

Compatibility

darsllc.org is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Browser zoom up to 200%
  • High contrast display modes
  • Modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge — current and previous major version)

Free Tools Accessibility

Our free diagnostic tools (Security Health Check, Compliance Readiness Quiz, MODPA Readiness Checklist, and others) are designed to run entirely in your browser without requiring account creation. All form inputs include descriptive labels. Tool results are presented as readable text, not images or charts that would exclude assistive technology users.
